PETER OBI OFFICIALLY JOINS ADC

Former presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 general election, Mr. Peter Obi, has officially defected to the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Obi announced his move on Tuesday in Enugu, alongside other political leaders from the south-east geopolitical zone, following what they described as months of wide consultations.

The group said the decision to join the coalition-backed ADC was driven by the need to work with opposition forces across the country to “rescue Nigeria from the poor governance of the All Progressives Congress (APC).”

Speaking at the event, Obi, a former Anambra State governor, said the move marks the beginning of a renewed political struggle aimed at rebuilding hope ahead of the next general election.

“We are ending this year with the hope that in 2026 we will begin a rescue journey,” Obi said.

“We will resist rigging of election by every lawful means in 2027,” he added.

Senator David Mark, national chairman of the ADC, was present at the ceremony, alongside other key political figures from across the country.
