By Ingram Osigwe

A seasoned pharmacist and lawyer who is also the Managing Director of Al-Tinez Pharmaceuticals Ltd, Pharm( Barrister) Steve Okoronkwo will on January 2nd, 2026 lay his beloved mother, the late Ezinne Rachel Nwamaka Okoronkwo to rest. Aged 85, the late Ezinne Okoronkwo was the matriarch of the Okoronkwo family of Umukegwu, Ideato North LGA, Imo state.

A programme of event released by the Okoronkwos indicates that the deceased will be interned at her husband’s country home after a funeral service at St Michael and All Angel’s Anglican Church, Umukegwu.

Aside Pharm( Barrister) Steve, the late Ezinne Okorokwo is survived by her husband, Chief Geoffrey Alaneme Okoronkwo, other children, grandchildren and great grandchildren including Mr Emmanuel Okoronkwo, Arc (Dcn) Emeka Godfrey Okoronkwo, Mrs. Glad Udodi-Olua among others.

A devout christian of the Anglican faith, the matriarch of the Okoronkwo family was a teacher, a seamstress, businesswoman and community leader. Ezinne Okoronkwo’s strong Christian faith was evident in the sound moral value she instilled in her children, teaching them to love God and follow His path. This virtue had a great influence on my friend and associate, Pharm( Barrister) Okoronkwo as can be gleaned from the countless laurels and recognitions he has won in the course of practice and service to humanity.

An erudite professional who straddles two professions and career- Pharmacy and Law- Pharm( Barr) Okoronkwo is noted for networking and connecting with like minds to help uplift the society and mankind. His membership of various professional bodies and socio- cultural organisations including the Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria (PSN), Nigeria Bar Association (NBA), Akokwa Professionals and Akokwa United Empowerment Forum highlights Pharm(Barr) Okoronkwo’s immense connections.

As he lays his dear mother to rest, my thought and prayers are with Pharm( Barr) Okoronkwo, a man of many parts. My prayer is that God gives him the fortitude to bear this irreparable.

May the kind soul of Ezinne Rachael Nwamaka Okoronkwo and the souls of the faithful departed rest in peace. Amen
