The National Film and Video Censors Board (NFVCB) has announced that a total of 83 movies were approved and released in the month of February 2026.
A statement signed by Monkom M. Mary, Asisstant Director,
Corporate Affairs of the organization said a breakdown of the movies released, showed English-language films recording the highest number with 47, reflecting the continued dominance of English-language productions in the Nigerian film industry. Igbo-language films followed with 18 releases, while Yoruba-language films were 11 releases within the same period.
In addition, the Board recorded 4 Hindi-language films and 3 Benin-language films released during in February 2026. No Hausa-language film was recorded for release within the reporting period.
The statement said the National Film and Video Censors Board remains committed to its statutory mandate of regulating and classifying films and video works in Nigeria to ensure that they meet the appropriate standards for public exhibition and distribution.
