The Senator representing Anambra South Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Senator Dr Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah, on Saturday stormed Uga Community in Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State to officially hand over a fully equipped healthcare centre as well as an electricity transformer to the people.
Leaders of the community, ably led by the king as well as the President General, along with the chiefs, the executive council members and several residents of the community comprising women and youths were on hand to welcome the “Prince of the Senate” to Aguata.
In his welcome address, the President General of the Uga community, Chief Dr A Ekesiobi, poured encomiums on the Senator and stated that Anambra South Senatorial District has been enjoying the perks of his hard work at the Red Chambers despite the fact that he is a first time Senator.
He went on to assure the Distinguished Senator that the community will reciprocate during the election for his second term in office. Ekesiobi, insisted that with his performance so far, it will be in the over all interest of Anambra South Senatorial District to send him back to the Senate for a second term.
The traditional ruler of the community, His royal highness, Igwe Chidi Ezewugu (Obi of Uga), in his speech thanked the Senator for always being there for the people of Uga community anytime he is called upon. He assured the Senator that the community will ensure that the fully equipped medical facility is manned by qualified personnel and will be put to maximum use in saving lives in line with his vision for building the hospital.
Igwe Chidi Ezewugu also thanked the Senator for also gifting the Umueze community an electricity transformer after several years of darkness and extolled the good and selfless nature of the Distinguished Senator.
The parish priest while praying for God’s blessings on both the Senator and people of the community who will make use of the facility, called for more selfless and people oriented servant leaders in the mold of Senator Dr Ifeanyi Ubah.
The medical facility was dedicated to the glory of God and for the use of the people..
