MARY KNOLL COLLEGE OGOJA 70TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION: CONTACT COMMITTEE VISIT AGABI, AGIM, GEN. EMEKA, IMOKE, NDOMA-EGBA

As preparation for the celebration of the 70th(Platinum) anniversary of the Mary Knoll College Ogoja intensifies, some members of the Alumni Contact and Mobilization Committee, have paid a courtesy visits to some of their most respected old Boys and National icons.

Those visited, include the Senior Prefect of the class of 1964, Senator Kanu Agabi SAN (Former Attorney General Of the Federation), Justice Emmanuel Agim, (Justice of the Supreme Court), the former Governor of Cross River State, HE Senator Liyel Imoke CON, former Senate leader Senator Victor Ndoma Egba, SAN and Major General Ejim Emeka, the Director Administration Research, Nigerian Army Heritage and Future Centre Abuja.

Earlier, the Committee led by Chief Joe Agi, SAN (University of Calabar’s first SAN),  comprising of illustrious alumni which include, Colonel Agim Rtd (Former Director, Ministry of Information), Chief Dr. Dorncklaimz Enamhe, Barr. Godwin Offiono aka Goffio, (House of Representatives Member-elect for Ogoja/Yala Federal Constituency), Bar Omang C Omang (House of Assembly member-elect for Bekwarra state constituency) and Mr Mathias Uyouyo (Director PSC), said itvisited the icons to brief them on their preparedness for the platinum celebration and to formally invite them to the epoch-making event.

Receiving the delegation, Senator Agabi SAN took them through memory lane about his time in Mary Knoll. He got very emotional at some points especially when he heard that Pa Moses, the chief cook is still alive. He emphasized that there’s no where he speaks without mentioning Mary Knoll.

At Justice Agim JSC’s  residence, the learned Jurist spoke with nostalgia about his time in Mary Knoll and advised that Alumni must come together to support the school. He opined that he holds Mary Knoll College dear and will continue to speak about the impact of the school in all his outings.

In his remarks, former Senate leader Senator Victor Ndoma Egba, SAN said he owes everything to the Catholic Church and Mary Knoll. The former NDDC boss promised to continue to put Mary Knoll first and emphasised on the need for all old boys to be united, always remember their Mary Knoll roots and try to give back to the school.

Former Governor of Cross River State, HE Senator Liyel Imoke, CON, said he owes his political and public service outing to his Mary Knoll upbringing.

While heaping praises on the Catholic Church for it’s ingenuity in creating Mary Knoll, which he said is a world class school, he promised to use his large contact and network to bring old boys to the Platinum celebration.

On his own part, Major General Ejim Emeka, Director Administration Research, Nigerian Army Heritage and Future Centre Abuja, recalled his experience in Mary Knoll with nostalgia and how it prepared him for the NDA. He thanked the old boys for coming to celebrate him which has now motivated him to work better. He charged the association to also look for those old Boys who are not doing well and assist them.

All the iconic old Boys visited, received the team with pride and assured them of their availability at the event.

Activities marking the Platinum celebrationof the famous Mary Knoll College will be taking place in the School premises from 12th to 18th of June, 2023.
