JUST IN! NIGERIA’S TOP SET DESIGNER, PAT NEBO DIES AT 64

One of Nigeria’s most celebrated set designers, Pat Nebo is dead.

He reportedly died after a protracted illness. He was 64 years old.

Film expert, Dr. Shaibu Husseini who announced the death on his social media handle on Thursday, wrote: “I have been reliably informed that foremost Nigerian Production Designer Pat Nebo is DEAD. HE has been bedridden for a while now. Journey Well Master of the Craft of production design.”

The boss of Pat Nebo Productions, the Enugu State-born production designer who was also an art director,  worked as the production designer in several Nollywood films, including, ‘October 1’, ‘”76’, ‘Being Mrs Elliot’ and ‘Okafor’s Law.’

He started his career as a production designer with the home movie “Ti Oluwa Ni Ile”, in 1993. He also acted in Kunle Afolayan’s film, ‘The Figurine’.

Beside movie sets, Nebo has designed several sets/stages used for music shows, stage plays, etc.
