AFCON: CAPE VERDE, SENEGAL QUALIFY FOR SECOND ROUND

Cape Verde became the first to reach the knock-out stage of the Africa Cup of Nations after beating Mozambique 3-0 in their second match of Group B.

With the scoreline, they have six points and are technically through to the knock-out stage. They are the first to do this and still have a match to play.

Few hours later, defending champions Senegal became the second to qualify for the round of 16 when they defeated Cameroon 3-1.

Sarr netted in the first half and Diallo and Mane in the second in Yamoussoukro to give the title-holders a maximum of six points after two Group C matches.
