AFCON: SOUTH AFRICA BATTLES NIGERIA AS COTE D’IVOIRE MEETS CONGO IN SEMI FINALS

South Africa’s Bafana Bafana on Saturday night, beat Cape Verde 5-3 on penalties following a goalless 120 minutes to advance to the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations semi-finals.

They will clash with Nigeria’s Super Eagles on Wednesday, February 7th for a Finals ticket.

Nigeria, sent Angola home 1-0 after winning their quarter finals tie in Abidjan on Friday.

After a tense last eight clash ended 0-0 at the Charles Konan Banny Stadium in Yamoussoukro on Saturday night, South Africa’s goal keeper Williams remarkably saved four spot-kicks in the shootout to send Bafana Bafana through to semi finals.

In the second semi finals match same day, hosts Cote d’Ivoire, will take on DR Congo for the finals ticket.
