The Creative Industry Group (CIG), under the leadership of Ambassador Felix Duke, has officially endorsed COSON Week, a series of music-driven events scheduled for May 2025, aimed at fostering national unity and supporting Nigerian artists.
COSON, led by Chairman Chief Tony Okoroji, sought CIG’s partnership to ensure the success of the week-long program, which will also raise funds for the COSON Music Foundation, dedicated to assisting elderly and ailing musicians. A key component of COSON Week is “COSON in the Church,” a national day of prayer to be held on May 25th at the Chapel of Christ the Light, Alausa, Ikeja.
Chief Okoroji described “COSON in the Church” as an unprecedented national prayer event, utilizing simultaneous broadcasts, streaming, and videocasting to connect Nigerians across the country. “In one voice, Nigerians in supplication, seek the face of the Almighty, to give the Nigerian nation a new lease of life, and optimism for Nigeria’s children,” he stated.
This event, driven by Nigerian creative artists, will feature renowned gospel musicians from various denominations and respected ministers of the gospel, all uniting to pray for peace and progress in Nigeria.
The overarching theme of COSON Week, “Nigeria will rise again,” reflects COSON’s belief in the power of Nigerian entertainers and their vast fan base to contribute to national stability and healing. “Nigerian entertainers from every tribe, with their millions of fans have a key role to play in stabilizing the nation and healing the wounds that tend to threaten the unity and development of the country,” Chief Okoroji emphasized.
COSON’s letter to CIG highlighted the group’s significant role in promoting creativity and requested their support for “COSON in the Church” and all other COSON Week 2025 programs. They also asked for CIG’s public endorsement and the nomination of participants for the various events.
Ambassador Felix Duke, CIG National President, accepted the invitation, pledging full participation and support for COSON Week. He further urged other creative professionals to collaborate with COSON to ensure the events’ resounding success.
