In a momentous and transformative event, Dr. Mrs. Elizabeth Egbetokun, the wife of the 22nd Indigenous Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olukayode Egbetokun PhD NPM, spearheaded a distinguished delegation to commission and lay the foundation for the POWA (Police Officers’ Wives Association) Children Model School in Sum and the Police Secondary School in Sum, Bogoro Local Government Area of Bauchi State.
This gathering represents a substantial step forward in enhancing educational opportunities and empowering communities, particularly in rural areas. Dr. Mrs Elizabeth Egbetokun emphasised the significance of the model school, which aims to ensure access to quality education for children while generating employment opportunities for local residents. “Our goal is to bridge the educational gap and prepare our children to become the future leaders of our society,” she remarked.

The ceremony attracted a wide array of dignitaries, including prominent government officials, traditional rulers, religious figures, and representatives from various ethnic groups. Hundreds of women received essential resources, including grinding machines, refrigerators, bags of rice, flour, and other support items, showcasing POWA’s commitment to sustainable empowerment strategies.
The community of Bogoro LGA, particularly its women and youth, expressed heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Mrs Elizabeth and her husband, the Inspector General of Police.
