PRINCE JOE ARAS ABUE CORONATED AS BUTURO ADE OF IDUM MBUBE KINGDOM

Prominent politician, farmer and retired civil servant, Prince (Sir) Joe Aras Abue, KSJI, has been coroneted as the Buturu Ade of Idum Mbube kingdom in Idum Mbube, Ogoja, Cross River State.

The University of Nigeria Nsukka Political Science graduate was recently honored by the University of Calabar during its 50th Anniversary celebration as a Distinguished Friend of the University .

The son of Buturu Peter Abue OON, the Former Paramount Ruler of old Ogoja, Prince Abue attended the renowned Mary Knoll College Okuku and the University of Nigeria Nsukka.

Before he meritoriously retired from the civil service, Prince Joe Aras Abue had a distinguished career. He rose to the rank of Permanent Secretary. He was Principal Staff Secretary to HE Col Kizito Attah (today’s equivalent of Chief of Staff). Prince Abue also served as Chief of Staff to HE Fidelis Nnang, former Deputy Governor; Private Secretary to HE Ibim Princewill, former Military Governor of Cross River State.

Prince Abue served as Commissioner for Works & Housing in the administration of HE Group Capt Ibrahim Kefas, former Military Administrator of Cross River State, a position he still held under HE Group Capt Gregory Agboneni among other roles.

Prince Abue has since retired into farming and philanthropy and he is doing well in his native Idum community (a community slowly acquiring an urban status) . He is the father-in-law of Papa Dc (Papa Ukpere 1 of Basang nation).
