Former Vice President of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar, has officially resigned his membership from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
This was made known in a post shared on X (formerly Twitter) by @imranmohammad, on Tuesday.
Atiku, has been one of the most prominent figures in the PDP since its inception. He ran as the party’s presidential candidate in the 2019 and 2023 general elections.
It is expected that he’s heading to the Africa Democratic Congress (ADC), the platform chosen by opposition coalition aimingto unseat President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.
