The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has confirmed it received a petition from the chairman of Dangote group, Aliko Dangote alleging corruption against the Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), Engr. Farouk Ahmed.
John Okor Odey, Spokesperson of the
ICPC on Tuesday, said the petition was submitted through Dangote’s legal representative earlier in the day and will be subjected to thorough investigation.
“The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission confirms the receipt of a formal petition today, Tuesday, 16th December 2025, from Alhaji Aliko Dangote through his lawyer. The petition is against the CEO of the NMDPRA, Alhaji Farouk Ahmed. The ICPC wishes to state that the petition will be duly investigated”, Odey stated.
It will be recalled that Alhaji Aliko Dangote, had accused Ahmed of corruption and misappropriation of public funds. The petition alleges that over $7 million in public money was spent on the education of Ahmed’s four children at elite Swiss schools, with fees reportedly paid upfront for six years.
Dangote had at a press conference urged the ICPC to investigate the matter urgently and prosecute Ahmed if found culpable.
