Former Governor of Abia State and Chief Whip of the Senate, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu arrived to a tumultuous welcome in Aba, the Enyimba city on Monday.
It was an emotional moment as a crowd of supporters across party lines, took up the streets to welcome Kalu who grew up in the city.
Kalu was in Aba, to attend the burial mass of late billionaire oil magnate and businessman, Chief Anthony Enukeme (Tonimas) which held at the Christ the Kings Catholic Church, Aba this morning.
Earlier, Kalu’s convoy was held up on his way to the Enyimba city by massive supporters from Isiala Ngwa North who blocked his convoy to exchange greetings with him.
His supporters put up excited displays and dance to usher him to the event.
It will be recalled that Kalu received a similar welcome when he arrived the state two weeks ago from Abuja. This is Kalu’s first visit to Aba in over seven months.
