All is now set for the burial of Chief Mrs Monica Chinelo Nneji, matriarch of the famous Nneji family of Akpugo, Nkanu West Local Government Area of Enugu State.
According to a burial progamme released by the family, and signed by her son, Chief Chuckie Nneji (Odibo Oha II of Nkanu Land), the funeral events will commence with a Wake Keep at the Nneji’s country home, Ogonogo Eji Ndiuno, Akpugo on Wednesday April 15th.

Her earthly remains will be committed to mother earth on Thursday April 16, 2026 after a funeral service at the St. Stephen’s Methodist Church, Obinagu Akpugo, Nkanu West LGA.
This will be followed by a burial/civic reception on Saturday, 18th April at the Nneji country home, Ogonogo Eji Ndiuno, Akpugo.
The events will be rounded off with a Thanksgiving cum Outing Service at the St. Stephen’s Methodist Church, Obinagu Akpugo on Sunday April 19, 2026.
Lady Chinelo died just nine years after her husband, Chief Sampson Nweke Nneji (JP), Odibo–Oha 1 of Nkanu Land passed on 10th August 2017.
