VETERAN NOLLYWOOD ACTOR TAIWO HASSAN ‘OGOGO’ BATTLES STAGE 4 CANCER, DAUGHTERS APPEAL FOR MEDICAL SUPPORT

Veteran Nollywood actor, Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, is currently battling Stage 4 cancer. The news broke on Monday, August 17, 2026, following a deeply emotional public appeal by his daughters, Lima and Kira Taiwo, who revealed the severe medical crisis their father is facing.

According to a video statement released by his daughter, Lima, medical experts have informed the family that they can no longer proceed with chemotherapy treatments for the actor. Describing her father’s visible pain and a severely swollen stomach, she issued a desperate call for alternative medical pathways.

The family explicitly clarified that they are not seeking financial aid. Lima expressed deep gratitude to Senator ‘Yayi’ Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, who has been financially supporting the veteran actor and footing his medical bills throughout the illness. Instead, the family’s urgent plea is for information leading to specialized doctors, oncology facilities, or effective alternative and traditional treatment options capable of handling advanced stage 4 cancer cases.

Ogogo remains an iconic pillar of the Yoruba film industry, beloved for his decades of performances in blockbuster indigenous movies and cultural projects.

The sudden announcement has sparked a massive wave of concern across the entertainment industry, with fans, colleagues, and well-wishers taking to social media to offer prayers and share contacts of specialized healthcare providers.
