HDV BOSS OTUNBA OLUFEMI OKENLA LAUNCHES IBIS LAGOS LEKKI

Otunba Olufemi Okenla, Chairman of HDV Nigeria Limited and owner of ibis Ikeja, has added another milestone to his entrepreneurial journey with the grand opening of ibis Lagos Lekki, a new hospitality destination in Lekki, Lagos.

The grand opening, held on August 14, attracted dignitaries, business associates, friends and well-wishers, with the ceremony marked by pomp, pageantry and entertainment. The hotel was officially declared open by Lagos State Governor, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, who was represented by the Secretary to the Lagos State Government, Mrs. Bimbola Salu-Hundeyin.

The ceremony also witnessed the presence of Otunba Okenla’s spiritual father, Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo of KICC International, who offered special prayers and formally declared the facility open alongside Pastor Femi Faseru.

Ibis Lagos Lekki boasts 120 soundproof rooms designed to provide guests with comfort and tranquillity. The hotel also features a swimming pool on the fourth floor, alongside other modern facilities aimed at delivering a quality and memorable hospitality experience.

Speaking on the challenges facing indigenous businesses, Otunba Okenla said increased private-sector investment would depend partly on creating funding conditions that give businesses sufficient time to develop and establish their projects. He lamented that the current funding system in Nigeria was not favourable to indigenous businesses and was affecting their ability to grow.

The opening of ibis Lagos Lekki further reinforces Otunba Okenla’s reputation as an entrepreneur par excellence and a significant player in Nigeria’s hospitality industry. His latest investment, he said, reflects the importance of vision, consistency and dedication in building sustainable businesses while contributing meaningfully to the growth of the Nigerian economy.
