Enugu-born Nollywood actress, influencer, philanthropist and brand ambassador, Rachael Okonkwo, popularly known as Nkoli Nwa Nsukka, has paid a courtesy visit to the Enugu State Governor, Dr Peter Mbah, where she presented him with her newly published autobiography, Odogwu Girl: From Dreams to Reality.
The autobiography chronicles Okonkwo’s inspiring journey from a challenging childhood to becoming a successful actress, entrepreneur, philanthropist and one of Nigeria’s prominent entertainment personalities. Her visit to the governor also provided an opportunity to celebrate her achievements and her enduring connection to her home state.
Okonkwo has built an impressive career in Nollywood, while also securing major commercial endorsements and brand partnerships. Beyond entertainment, however, she has distinguished herself through sustained philanthropic activities, particularly initiatives targeted at children, widows and vulnerable members of communities across Nsukka and Enugu State.
One of her notable community initiatives is the Nkoli Mega Carnival, which recently held its eighth edition in Nsukka. The charity and community outreach programme attracted thousands of people, with more than 5,000 beneficiaries reportedly accessing free medical services, while 500 widows received food items and other forms of support.
