HOW BILLIONAIRE BUSINESSMAN, BOLU AKIN-OLUGBADE DIED OF COVID-19

Billionaire businessman, Aare Boluwatife Akin-Olugbade, has died.

Akin-Olugbade died at the age of 64 on Wednesday January 13 after battling with COVID-19 complications.

According to insider sources, the businessman  fell ill, after returning from a wedding ceremony on December 26, where he had served as chairman of the reception.

He was reportedly hospitalised at Paelon Memorial Hospital, Ikeja and subsequently discharged.

He had a relapse last weekend and was diagnosed with Covid-19 following which he was rushed to one of the isolation centers in Lagos.

A native of Owu kingdom in Ogun State, late Akin-Olugbade was described as one of the world’s biggest Rolls-Royce collectors. He was so obsessed with the brand that he had 10 Rolls Royce cars which has his customized plate numbers.

Late Akin-Olugbade attended Corona School, Yaba; King’s College, Lagos, London University; University of California (master’s in Law); and Cambridge University where he got his doctorate specialising in Company Law.

His business interests cut across law, property development, construction, manufacturing, logistics, distribution, maritime and offshore services, investment banking, among others.
