The general increase in the prices of food items has pushed Nigeria’s annual inflation to 28.20 per cent in November 2023 from 21.47 per cent in November 2022, the highest in 18 years. The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), which disclosed this in its Consumer Price Index (CPI) and Inflation Report November for 2023 released yesterday, said food inflation rose from 24.13 per cent in November 2022 to 32.84 per cent in November 2023.
