The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has declared a sit-at-home protest across the south-east region of the country for October 1. The secessionist group, in a statement by Emma Powerful, its spokesman, alleged that there is a plan by “terrorist groups to slaughter our children” if they venture out to celebrate or march on Independence Day.
