Former governor of Abia State and Chief Whip of the Senate, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu , on Saturday won the Abia North All Progressives Congress Senatorial primaries. Kalu’s opponents Fabian Nwankwo and Ijeagu Emeaba withdrew voluntarily from the race leaving the Senate Whip with all the 777 cast at the primaries which held in Ohafia. With his victory, Kalu, will again face his former opponent, Sen. Mao Ohuabunwa of the PDP, whom he beat for the seat in 2019. Ohuabunwa clinched the PDP ticket on Wednesday.
