*APPOINTS PROF. ANYA AS HEAD OF EXPLORATORY COMMITTEE
Moved by his quest to make abia, the science and technology hub of Nigeria, Governor Okezie Victor Ikpeazu has concluded plans to establish a universityof science and technology in the state.
To this effect, the Abia State Governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu, has approved the inauguration of an exploratory committee on the setting up of a University of Science and Technology in Aba.
According to a release signed by Chief John Okiyi Kalu, the Abia State Commissioner for Information, on Monday, members of the committee which will be inaugurated by the Governor at the Exco Chambers of Government House, Umuahia, on Monday, January 6, 2020, include the following:
Prof Anya O Anya (Chairman), Engr Isaac Nnadi (Member), Chief (Mrs) Uwaoma Olewengwa, Prof Benjamin C. Ozumba (Member) and Prof Ikechi Mgbeoji (Secretary)
The Committee has 8 weeks to submit its report.
