ABIA POLY HITS TECHNOLOGICAL BREAKTHROUGH, PRODUCES ‘ELEPHANT ELECTRIC BULB’

The good news coming from the Abia State Polytechnic, Aba, is that the prestigious tertiary institution, that was set up in 1992 has hit a technology breakthrough and has gone into manufacturing.

Insiders say the institution which has Elder John Nwangborogwu as head of it’s Governing Council and led by Dr. Okoro Kalu Osonwa, as Rector, has moved into the production of Elephant Electric Renewable Energy Bulb.

A report by newsmirrorng.com quoted the Head of Department, Electrical/Electronic Engineering Technology, Engr. Kelechi Inyama as saying that the department is being motivated by the good and friendly disposition of  the new Rector, Dr. Okorie Kalu Osonwa, propelled by the zeal to reciprocate his calm and friendly engagement.

This is coupled with the cheering news that TETFUND project is back to the school which has propelled the activation of technological ingenuity  of the institution.

Engr. Kelechi Iyama stressed that the  Elephant Electric renewal bulb is the best bulb in the country and that it’s production, is aimed at increasing the revenue base of the school.

He however pointed out that the department is facing challenges which include lack of funds and the usage of manual  equipment which makes quantity production a little slower.

While soliciting for assistance from the government, Engr. Inyama implored good spirited Nigerian businessmen to come and partner with the school for mass production, instead of going to import from China or to buy from other states of the federation.

With this feat, Abia State Polytechnic, Aba is changing the narrative while the Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu led administration has yet scored another first in the promotion of local manufactured goods.
