MEET DELTA BROADCASTING SERVICE HOTTEST OAP, DEW JEMIMA

Beautiful Dew Jemima Wilson, is unarguably the hottest On-air-personality, OAP, in the whole of the Delta State Broadcasting Service, DBS, Asaba. Her popularity stems from her fluid style of presentation on both Radio and Television.

Dew presents the flagship program on DBS TV-Morning Ride as well as numerous other programs. Her repertoire include, “Book2Art” and “Heritage Hype” as well as “Melody Lane” and “Feminine Fair” on Voice of Delta, 97.9 FM radio.

Dew’s first contact with the moving picture, was her brief stint with Nollywood in Asaba where she featured in a few movies. But ‘permanent job’ hunting was to take her to the Ministry of Arts and Culture where she sat and passed her interview in flying colours.

Her interviewer, a lady, however altered the dream of a desk job at the Arts and Culture ministry, when she told her to go to the media agency, DBS, where her voice will be more appreciated.

As it turned out, Dew was to get a job at the Delta State Broadcasting Service, 97.9 FM Radio, the next day after she was interviewed by the late Tony Uzor. On the first day she read the news, she caught the attention of the bosses, so much that the former Commissioner for Information, Chief Chike Ogeah, left a standing order that the news must be read by her on a daily basis.

Just four months into the Radio job, Dew impressed her bosses again when they tried her on Television. Like the standing order handed down by the former Commissioner for her to read the news on Radio, Dew was also placed instantly on the major program, the 8 o’clock news.

Dew had planned to be a Medical Doctor, but fate played a fast one on her when she was offered Microbiology at the University of Nigeria Nsukka, UNN. Not satisfied with the offer, Dew left Nsukka a few months into her studies to the Delta State University, DELSU, Abraka, where she studied Business Administration. She also holds a Master degree in Communications Management, also from DELSU.

Versatile Dew, who is a superb editor, is also a consummate unionist. She has at various times been Committee Chairman, Secretary of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, DBS chapter as well as former Vice Chairman of the NUJ, DBS chapter. She is also a member, National Association of Women Journalists, NAWOJ, and member of the NIPR.
