LEGENDARY GUITARIST, FELIX ODEY, ‘FELADEY’ DIES AT 70

Legendary musician and guitarist, Felix ‘Feladey’ Odey is dead.

Feladey reportedly died on Wednesday July 28, 2021 after a brief illness.

Born on January 2, 1951, in Cross River State, Feladey was known as ‘Band Boy’, the title of one his popular album that contained the rehearse of Rex Lawson’s song, ‘Sawalele’ and Osita Osadebe’s ‘One Pound No Balance’.

Feladey played for several bands in the 70s, 80s and 90s, including Fela Anikulapo Kuti, Wrinkers Experience and Bongos Ikwue. Indeed, he played the guitar lines on Bongos Ikwue’s evergreen song, ‘Cockcrow At Dawn’.

Feladay last month, performed at the Coson celebration of another legendary musician, Richard Cole, who clocked 70 years.
