HOW NOLLYWOOD VETERAN ACTOR RICH OGANIHU DIED FROM KIDNEY FAILURE

*MOTHER’S BODY STILL IN MORTUARY

Its no longer news that veteran Nollywood actor and former Corporate Marketing Consultant of the Abuja chapter of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, AGN,  Rich Oganihu died on Tuesday.

Sources close to his family said the Ngor-Okpala, Imo State-born actor died from a chronic kidney disease which he has been battling for a few years.

Four months back, Oganihu was rushed to the Isolo General Hospital, then to the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, LUTH and finally to a private hospital in Surulere where he was undergoing treatment.

Our source said he underwent a couple of dialysis regimen but was discharged when he could not continue with the payment. Thebladengr.com gathered that at the time, the actor’s friends and colleagues, Messrs Charles Okafor and Peter Ononiwu had been the major supports in his treatment.

This medium gathered that Doctors had told Oganiru that he needed N13million for a kidney transplant and had been given a referral from the Navy Hospital, Ojo to the Federal Medical Center, Umuahia. His associates later made a video calling for help, but none was forthcoming before tragedy struck.

About 9am on Monday August 9th, Oganiru had reportedly made a frightening post to his Whatsapp forum where he told the members that he was in “danger.”

Two hours later, a family member had asked the forum to pray as Oganiru’s health had become critical and efforts were being made to rush him to the hospital.

Meanwhile, thebladengr.com, learnt that the actor had lost his mother late last year and that her body had not been committed to mother earth before Oganiru succumbed to death yesterday.
