HIGH SOCIETY GATHER AS LADY DOJA OTEDOLA CELEBRATES AT 90

The creme de la creme of Nigerian society and the upper crust from different sectors turned out in great number to honour and celebrate Lady Christine Doja Otedola.

Lady Doja, the latest nonagenarian in town, who is the wife of former Lagos Governor, Sir Michael Otedola who is fondly called ” That Lagos May Now Excel” and mother of billionaire businessman, Femi Otedola was filled with joy throughout the landmark celebration.

The birthday celebration began with the dedication of St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Odorangushi, built and donated by the celebrant.

The official blessing of this new house of God was performed by Metropolitan Archbishop of Lagos, His Grace ( Dr.) Alfred Adewale Martins.

In his short speech, Arch. Adewale Martins thanked the celebrant for not only being a consistent worker in Church but now building a House for the Lord.

He prayed for her continued good health, noting that her family and all those associated with her will enjoy blessings unlimited and God’s protection.

This over, there was an elaborate service attended by VP Osinbajo, Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu,  Gov. Dapo Abiodun, Mr Peter Obi, Aliko Dangote, Bashorun Dele Momodu among others.

The day was round off with a glitzy reception that was attended by former President, Chief Olusegun Obassnjo but chaired by Aremo Olusegun Osoba.

The highest point of the ceremony planned by Zapphaire Events was the cutting of the cake.

The cake arrived the venue literally from the sky and this elicited applause.

Officiated by Beere Derin Osoba, the lovely cake was cut gleefully by Lady Doja surrounded by her children and grand children.

Entertainment was top notch. Gourmet meals, grills and choice drinks flowed freely. And even muslims had special meals to break their fast.

Music too was superb. Olurotimi Otedola (celebrant’s son) dished out afrobeats,  Cuppy raised the roof with a pulsating show and Tolani rounded off with her velvety-voiced R& B numbers.

The grand ceremony hit its crescendo when King Sunny Ade took centrestage and thrilled till late, a fitting finale to a great day!
