Al-Ittihad FC, player and Super Falcons defender, Ashleigh Plumptre on Friday, launched her pet project, the “Put A Foot In Africa Football Camps & Workshop” in Lagos.
The event which held at the University of Lagos (UNILAG) Sports Center lasted two-days January 2–3, 2026.

The event aims to bridge elite football coaching with critical athlete welfare and safety education for young Nigerian players. It also provided free, professional football sessions to girls in the local community.
These sessions were led by coaches from Plumptre’s own club, Saudi Arabia’s Al-Ittihad FC, and had participants aged 9–16 receiving world-class technical training.
The program also helped participants to sharpen on-field skills and identify their unique personal strengths and foster deep connections with their teammates.
The event held through the partnership of Mission 89, a global organization dedicated to combating child trafficking in sports, had Ashleigh’s Super Falcons teammate, Michelle Alozie in attendance.
Plumptre, a global ambassador for Mission 89, emphasized that the project is “about more than just football,” focusing instead on protecting the future of African talent from exploitation.
