“GET OUT OF MY CABINET NOW!”—BUHARI ORDERS MINISTERS EYEING POLITICAL OFFICES IN 2023

President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday, directed that all members of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) running for elective offices to submit their letters of resignation on or before Monday the 16th of May, 2022.

He said: “I expect other members of this council seeking to be President to resign with immediate effect.”

Speaking through the Minister of information and Culture, Lai Mohamed, disclosed this on Wednesday during the Federal Executive Council meeting, Buhari said that the directive excludes the Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo.

Aspirants who are members of the FEC include Governor of Central Bank, Mr. Godwin Emefiele; the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Mr. Timipreye Sylva, the minister of Labour and employment, Dr. Chris Ngige, the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Sen. Godswill Akpabio, the minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, Ogbonnaya Onu and minister of Justice and Attorney General, Abubakar Malami.
