Liz Truss has formally been appointed the Prime Minister of Britain by Queen Elizabeth 11.
Truss emerged third female British Prime Minister, after Margaret Thatcher and Theresa May on Monday, when she became the Conservative Party Leader gathering 81,326 votes against her rival, former Finance Minister Rishi Sunak who had 60,399 votes.
Before becoming PM, Truss was the Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs.
Truss met the Queen on Tuesday and is on her way to London to formally take office after Boris Johnson tendered his resignation to Queen Elizabeth II at an earlier audience with the Queen at Balmoral.
She is expected to give her first official speech at No. 10 Downing Street, London within the hour.
