President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday, ordered the extension of the validity of old N200 notes till April 10.
Speaking on a nationwide broadcast, Buhari announced that old N1000 and N500 notes can only be redeemable at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and designated points but cannot be accepted as legal tender.
While regretting the hardship caused by the implementation of the policy, Buhari insisted it was the best to curb corruption and vote buying.
