Former head coach of Nigeria’s Super Falcons women’s national team, Ismaila Mabo, is dead. His death was confirmed by Mansir Salihu Nakande, his brother, on Monday. Mabo, reportedly in the early hours of Monday after a protracted illness. Coach Mabo died at age 80. Nigeria’s first female Senator, Franca Afegbua is dead. She died on Sunday, March 12, 2023 at the age of 79 years. Franca Afegbua, a former beautician before she embraced politics, represented Bendel North in the Nigerian Senate in 1983. A native of Okpella in the Etsako area of the present Edo State, Afegbua was elected under the National Party of Nigeria, NPN. She had her tertiary education in Sofia, Bulgaria.
