ISMAILA MABO, EX-SUPER FALCON’S COACH IS DEAD

Former head coach of Nigeria’s Super Falcons women’s national team, Ismaila Mabo, is dead. His death was confirmed by Mansir Salihu Nakande, his brother, on Monday. Mabo, reportedly in the early hours of Monday after a protracted illness. Coach Mabo died at age 80. Mabo led the Nigerian women’s team, the Super Falcons, to their best-ever performance at the FIFA Women’s World Cup in 1999, where they reached the quarterfinals.
