Malaysian actress and former James Bond girl, Michelle Yeoh Choo Kheng, has emerged Best Actress at the 2023 Oscar awards.
Michelle Yeoh by the feat, also becomes the first Asian to win the best actress Oscar, for her performance in “Everything Everywhere All at Once”.
The film, “Everything Everywhere All at Once” also won seven awards including Best picture, Best director, Best original screenplay, Best leading actress, Best-supporting actor, Best film editing and Best supporting actress.
Brendan Fraser in the night, won the Best actor in a leading role for The Whale.
Meanwhile, Ruth E. Carter who became the first Black person to win the Oscar for costume design for her work on Marvel’s “Black Panther,” in 2019 bagged the award once again for the film’s sequel, “Wakanda Forever.”
