Napoli, Italy top scorer, Victor Osimhen was penultimate week, named the King of the Pitch at the 9th Nigeria Pitch Awards held at the Johnwood Hotel, Abuja. Also named Queen of the Pitch at the event, was FC Barcelona Femeni’s Asisat Oshoala.


On the night, former 1st Vice-President of the NFF Seyi Akinwunmi won the Sam Okwaraji Award for commitment to Nigerian football. Osimhen won again as he also picked up the Striker of the Year award for the second season.

The Nigeria Pitch Awards, a brainchild of Dr. Shina Philips-led Matchmakers Consult, was first staged in 2013 in Calabar, Cross Rivers State.
