EX-DELTA STATE GOVERNOR, JAMES IBORI RECONCILES WIKE, GOV. DIRI

Former Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike has ended his feud with Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri.

Recall that ex-Gov. Wike and Gov. Diri engaged in  months of long drawn war which led to the demolition of Bayelsa Government property in Port Harcourt.

But all that is now ended as former Delta State governor, Chief James Ibori intervened in the feud last week.

Ibori hosted the duo of Diri and Wike on Thursday in Abuja and got them to end the political war which started in the build up to the 2023 presidential election.

It will also be recalled that Gov. Diri supported the presidential candidate of PDP, Atiku Abubakar in the 2023 poll, while Wike alongside his G5 members worked against the interest of the former vice president.

Ibori confirmed the reconciliation in a Twitter post he made on Thursday while stating that his motive was to engender unity in the Niger Delta region. Ibori wrote: “It was a pleasure to host two of my younger brothers, Governor Wike & Governor Diri today in Abuja. Unity in the Niger Delta is the key to peace and stability in the region.”
