The body of the late Chief of Army Staff Lt. Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja was flown into the country on Thursday morning.
The casket containing his remains and draped in national colours arrived at the Nigerian Air Force wing of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos at exactly 9 am.
The body was received by soldiers of the Guards Brigade, who paid their last respects before it was moved to Abuja where the late COAS will be buried on Friday.
General Lagbaja’s body arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja precisely at 12:16 pm.
Meanwhile , the funeral rites will commence this evening with a Service of Songs.
He will be buried at the National Military Cemetery Abuja Friday afternoon.
