In furtherance of his commitment to enhancing good governance and improving the welfare of Imolites, His Excellency Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, CON, has officially handed over staff of office to 66 new traditional rulers from across Imo State, consequently, effectively making them the State government’s most reliable liaison in their various communities.
The ceremony which took place on Saturday 22nd March at the Same Mbakwe expanded exco chamber in the Imo State Government House, Owerri, was greeted with excitement and satisfaction by members of the various communities, who had, before the event worried over the non-recognition of their traditional rulers by the government, thereby, creating avoidable gaps in the governance structure of the local communities.
With the eventual affirmation of these eminent sons of the State as traditional heads of their various autonomous communities, the governor and government of Imo State have set the right institutions in place for effective delivery of dividends of democracy, security of lives and properties, distribution of economic gains, resolution of disputes and expansion of opportunities for the citizenry.
His Excellency Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma CON has once again demonstrated his unwavering commitment to empowering our local communities with adequate resources and leadership necessary to attain their potentials.
