KUNLE AFOLAYAN UNVEILS KAP FILM VILLAGE & RESORT IN GRAND LAUNCH

In a landmark celebration of Nigeria’s creative evolution, renowned filmmaker Kunle Afolayan today officially unveiled the KAP Film Village & Resort in Igbojaye, Oyo State, a groundbreaking initiative set to redefine the intersection of film, tourism, and culture.

The grand opening ceremony, held on Saturday, April 12, 2025, was graced by the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, and the Honourable Minister of Art, Culture, Tourism & the Creative Economy, Hannatu Musa Musawa, who jointly hosted the historic occasion.

Developed through a visionary partnership between Kunle Afolayan, the Oyo State Government, and the Federal Ministry of Art, Culture, Tourism & the Creative Economy, the resort is poised to become a flagship destination for cinematic production and cultural experiences in West Africa.

Speaking during the event, Governor Makinde hailed the project as a symbol of innovation and a bold step toward economic diversification through creative industry investments. Minister Musawa described the initiative as a “national asset” that aligns perfectly with the federal government’s agenda for cultural tourism and youth empowerment.

The dignitaries, along with other guests, were taken on a tour of the state-of-the-art facility, which combines film studios, lodging, and cultural experiences designed to attract local and international creatives, tourists, and investors.

With the KAP Film Village & Resort now open, Nigeria’s film and tourism sectors are set to gain a dynamic new hub that bridges heritage, storytelling, and economic opportunity all under one roof.
