I know say valentine don pass but it’s still the season of love, so happy Valentine’s Day my gistlovers.
If you ever doubt say life get wicked sense of humor, this story go reset your brain. Because tell me why alleged kidnappers waka enter hospital with full confidence, carrying their sick pikin for treatment… only to meet the exact doctor wey dem allegedly kidnap months earlier?
Of all places. Of all hospitals. Na there destiny decide to sit down and wait. If this no be divine set-up, then wetin be this? Na this kind plot twist go make you drop your phone and shout, “E no possible!” But for Auchi, Edo State, this one na real-life cinema.
Make we rewind small so the gist go marinate well. On January 2, 2025, gunmen stormed Dr. Ibrahim Tahir’s residence for Auchi, Edo State, and abducted him alongside his younger brother.
House wey suppose be safe space turned crime scene overnight. Family begin run helter-skelter, negotiating, praying, hoping. Eventually, dem reportedly pay N50 million ransom just to secure the doctor and his brother’s release. Fifty million no be beans.
But here’s the part wey make this whole story heavy. After ransom don change hands and Dr. Tahir regained freedom, his younger brother was later found dead, allegedly killed by the abductors. That one no be small heartbreak.
That’s the kind of pain wey no dey expire. So this no just be random arrest gist, this na trauma wey come back to look people in the eye.
Now fast forward to the twist wey make everywhere freeze. Months later, suspected members of that same gang allegedly carried their sick child go the exact hospital where Dr. Tahir worked; the Special Care Baby Unit precisely.
Of all hospitals wey dey that area, na that one dem choose. Of all days, na that very day karma mark attendance.
Coincidentally, or make we call am destiny doing overtime, Dr. Tahir was at the facility for wound dressing. According to reports, he allegedly recognized them immediately. Time stood still. The shock. The flashbacks. The silent ‘na una be this?’ energy hanging in the air.
Security operatives were alerted sharp-sharp, and just like that, the narrative flipped, the hunters became the hunted. From anxious parents to suspects in custody within minutes. Life no dey waste time to balance equation sometimes.
As the atmosphere begin change and people for the hospital start sensing say something no dey add up, the alleged kidnappers reportedly catch the memo say wahala don land. You know that uneasy shifting, side-eye glances, quiet whispering, na there panic start.
Before you fit say “make we commot small,” dem allegedly try to sneak out of the hospital premises sharp-sharp. But destiny no even allow them reach gate.
Security operatives wey don already receive signal from Dr Tahir move fast, and police showed up immediately. Their escape plan crash like bad network. Dem catch them before dem fit vanish.
According to reports, during interrogation, the suspects allegedly confessed to the kidnapping of Dr. Tahir and the killing of his younger brother. Imagine thinking you’re walking into a hospital for treatment, only to walk straight into your own judgement day. True true, karma dey work overtime sometimes.
Tell me say this story isn’t wild. The same man whose family paid millions. The same man who lost his brother. Meeting his alleged abductors again, not in fear, not blindfolded but standing, alive, and able to identify them.
If this no be reminder say life get one kind wicked sense of irony, then honestly I no know wetin we go call am. Because sometimes life go just fold arms, smile somehow, and return people to the exact spot where everything started.
Karma no dey send memo. E no dey do press release. E no go announce say, “I’m on my way.” E just shows up unannounced, flips the whole script, and leave everybody speechless.
Doctor questions Nkubi’s wife pregnancy choice
Wonders no dey ever finish for Naija o! Every day, something hot must land for timeline. This time, na hospital drama wey turn social media pepper soup.
Vivian, wife of media personality Nkubi, don reveal wetin one doctor talk to her for her anomaly scan and omo, e dey hot like fresh akara for morning .
Make I yan una small backstory first: Nkubi and Vivian don dey trend since wedding day. Why? Because Nkubi na dwarf, and Vivian no be. From wedding day, online critics never gree them rest.
When their first daughter was born, and she take after her papa, online wahala explode. People begin carry grammar like say dem be genetic scientists wey dey run human lab for Twitter. But the couple? Dem dey do their thing, dey raise their pikin, dey mind their own business
Vivian yan during her interview with Pulse One-on-One say one time she waka go hospital for anomaly scan. As she hand her report give doctor, him ask, “Any family get dwarfism?” She calm reply, “Yes… my husband.”
Na so the matter suppose end, abi? Wrong. Doctor allegedly ask, “Why you no go do am with your brother-in-law? Or even go outside get pikin? Why you no use sperm donor instead of your husband?”
Vivian no even know whether make she laugh or cry as the doctor dey yan like say marriage na group project. Imagine, for one calm hospital room, dem dey suggest she go borrow DNA from another man like sugar from a kind neighbor.
As the gist land online, Nigerians scatter reactions everywhere. Some tweets dey scream, “Doctor need retraining jare! This one no be health advice, na insult!” Others dey defend Vivian: “Leave their marriage alone, Vivian no do anything wrong.”
But e no end there oo. Some people still feel say the doctor no do wrong. One person add, “maybe na medical concern na” People dey too sensitive. Another add, “I fit understand why e ask, genetics na serious matter. No be hate.”
Beyond shock, this matter show how society still dey struggle to treat dwarfism and their families with respect. Love no be lab experiment. Marriage no be group project.
Nkubi and Vivian dey live their life, dey raise their pikin, dey ignore online wahala. The real anomaly na the mindset wey dey think say some couples need “alternative options.”
So over to una — wetin you think? Doctor dey right to ask so, or e cross line enter bias wahala? Make we bear una mind small.
When protest meets family drama: Amaechi sparks online reactions
Politics for Naija na real-life telenovela. While some leaders dey preach protest from their air-conditioned offices, former Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi, waka show say actions dey louder than speech, as he joined INEC protest ground, and bring his son wey be medical doctor along.
I know say una go ask, “Why the drama though?” Some critics dey accuse politicians say dem dey ginger Nigerians to protest while their own pikin dey abroad, dey sip tea.
Amaechi yan, “No be so e go be for my side.” According to him, him bring his son to the protest so people go see that leaders suppose dey frontline with their families. “If injury happen, my son na doctor. E go treat anybody wey get wahala,” he yan.
Oga Rotimi no stop there, him fire small shade as e talk politics. According to him, opposition parties like PDP, ADC, everybody suppose dey for the street make their voices count, show say politicians fit stand with the people, no just dey ginger from office.
As the gist land online, Nigerians scatter reactions. Some dey shout: “Omo! Na true patriot move! Bring your family, dey frontline, I dey feel am.” Others dey fire small criticism: “This one na political theatre.” Some dey joke: “Next protest, make dem bring the whole medical faculty.” Social media no gree carry last, as usual.
Beyond all the drama, e clear say Amaechi wan show commitment and prove say politicians fit dey involved physically, no be to just dey behind podium dey ginger citizens. His son’s presence na statement of solidarity, not just eye candy for camera. But as usual, Nigerians dey look am with side eye.
So now, as sign of true leadership move make politician bring pikin join protest, or na mere political showmanship? Make we hear wetin una think.
