The family of popular Nollywood actor, Alex Ekubo, have pleaded with the public to refrain from the numerous claims of what led to the passage of their son.
In a statement released on Tuesday, the family said, “We kindly ask the public to refrain from spreading unverified claims regarding the cause of his Illness. We request, that everyone allow Alex to rest in peace and respect the privacy of his family during this difficult time”.
The statement also gave an updated account the actor’s sickness and death. According to the family, Alex died on Monday at a hospital in Lagos.
The family revealed that, “Alex was diagnosed with a stage 4 liver cancer in 2024. After undergoing treatment and after a liver transplant, he briefly returned back to work.
“Unfortunately, the liver failed again and complications arose, and his condition deteriorated until his passing”.
