This month between September 19 to 28, the ancient and revered Yoruba city of Ile-Ife will play host to the global community of cultural enthusiasts as the converge for the annual Olojo Festival.
A cultural event that has become a rallying point for men and women from all walks of life who gather to learn about the culture and people of Ile-Ife and Yoruba at large, this year edition of the festival will witness a unique programme on Sunday the 27th with the formal launch of a first of its kind book on the dreams, aspirations and rare contributions to humanity of the Oooni of Ife, Oba Dr Adeyeye Enitan Babatunde Ogunwusi, Ojaja II.
The book which is titled – Unveiling Greatness: Crown Royal Supremacy (The Crown, The Vision, The Legacy of Ooni of Ife) is authored by American-Nigerian, Dr Florence Omisakin. Unveiling Greatness which received the blessing of His Imperial Majesty earlier in the year is an inspirational book which focuses on the exemplary life of a man whose intense dedication to the upliftment of the Yoruba culture, passion for young people and women continue to elevate the global perception of the Ooniship and Yoruba culture at large.
In her assessment and reason for her venture into the enormous assignment, Dr Omisakin said she was motivated “by the sheer commitment and deliberate effort of His Imperial Majesty Oba Ogunwusi, Ojaja II to positively affect humanity, and bring the world into appreciating the rich cultural heritage of Ile-Ife and Yourubaland,”
Dr Omisakin who is the founder of Go Blossom Publishing Inc., Cornerstone Mount Group “CMG” Inc., (NGO), and other leadership and Not-For-Profit outfits across the world, is optimistic that the book, Unveiling Greatness which is already available on amazon (https://www.amazon.com/dp/BOH3F8P9SV) will transform the thinking of many young people especially in the way they perceive culture, traditions and their alignment with emerging technologies across the world.
Aside from the official launch of the book which will take place on Sunday September 27 inside the Royal Hall, Palace of the Ooni of Ife, Ile-Ife, the author is inviting partners to support the project and make it a best-seller on amazon.
A portion of the proceeds from the book launch will go into supporting some listed NGOs in Special Consultative Status with the United Nations – ECOSOC to support projects to Stop Illiteracy (SDG4) & Gender Equality (SDG5 educating the youth, women & vulnerable persons in Ile-Ife, Osun State, Abuja and Lagos.
Significantly, dignitaries from all walks of life have indicated their participation in the presentation of this book of records which, “unveils the force of character that continues to shape the unimaginable accomplishments of His Imperial Majesty, Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Babatunde Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, who continues to shape and magnify the history of Yorubaland to the world.”
