TINUBU CONGRATULATES KWANKWASO ON 70TH BIRTHDAY

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Wednesday, sent a congratulatory message to former Kano State governor, Dr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, on his 70th birthday anniversary.

Tinubu while congratulating the former one-time Minister of Defence and former Senator representing Kano Central Senatorial District, said he and the National Democratic Congress, NDC Vice Presidential candidate, “have had a longstanding association, dating back to their time in the National Assembly in 1992”, when Kwakwaso was in the House of Representatives and the president was in the Senate, and later in 1999 when “we both emerged as governors of our respective states”.

President Tinubu noted that as members of the Class of ’99 Governors, they both played pivotal roles in laying the foundation for the democracy the nation enjoys today.

Tinubu revealed that their political journey was shaped by different choices, but that their political paths differed until they coalesced in 2013 to form the All Progressives Congress.

He acknowledged Senator Kwankwaso’s immense contributions to Kano State and Nigeria as a two-term Governor, former Minister of Defence, former Senator, former presidential candidate, and now a presidential running mate, saying that Senator Kwankwaso remains an influential figure and a progressive politician.

President Tinubu said that as the former governor marks this milestone, he wished him good health, personal fulfilment, and many more years of engagement in the nation’s democratic process.
