The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has re-elected Dr. Ike Neliaku as its President and Chairman of the Council for a second term, alongside Vice President Prof. Emmanuel S. Daudara from the Nasarawa Chapter. The duo will lead the council for the next two years, supported by a new slate of executives.
The re-election took place at the 2025 Annual General Meeting (AGM) held in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, as part of the annual Nigeria Public Relations Week (NPRW) 2025. Notably, Dr. Neliaku hails from the FCT Chapter.
The council has welcomed new members, including:

– Comfort Nwankwo, current Chairman of the Lagos Chapter
– Mr. Akin Agbejule (Niger)
– Mrs. Olubunmi Adedoyin Badejo (FCT)
– Prof. Kate Azuka Omenugha (Anambra)
– Mallam Bashir Adamu Chedi
– Dr. Saudat Salah Abdubaqi (Kwara)
– Comrade Ini Ememobong (Akwa Ibom)
– Malam Kabir Ali Kobir (Bauchi)
– Pastor Paulinus Enyidah Nsirim (Rivers)
– Prof. Sarah Benjamin Lwahas (Plateau)
– Mr. Adaramola Temitope (Ogun State)
– Dr. Adewale Oladipo Oyekanmi (Osun)
– Chief Patrick Ogoegbunem Uka (Delta)
– Sajoh Ahmed Ibrahim (Adamawa)
The 17 council members were elected through a credible e-voting process, praised by members for its viability in Nigeria.
Since assuming office, Dr. Neliaku has led NIPR through several reforms. Recently, Nigeria secured the bid to host the 2026 World Public Relations Forum (WPRF), a testament to the institute’s growing influence.
The NPRW 2025 edition, themed “Solid Minerals: A Solid Path to Nigeria’s Sustainable Economic Recovery – The Challenge for Public Relations,” brought together PR professionals, policymakers, and stakeholders at Ceedapeg Hotels, Uyo, from May 19–24, 2025.
