The remains of Nigerian billionaire businessman and philanthropist Alhaji Aminu Hassan Dantata, will be laid to rest in Medina, Saudi Arabia today, Monday June 30, 2025.
Dantata, who was uncle to Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, died in the United Arab Emirates, UAE on Saturday at the age of 94.
He was said to have written a Will mandating the family to bury him in Medina beside his second wife, Hajiya Rabi Aminu Dantata who died at a Jeddah hospital in April 2023 and was interred in Medina.
The late billionaire’s Principal Private Secretary, Mustapha Abdullahi Junaid confirmed in a social media post that approval has been gotten from the Saudi authorities to move the corpse of Aminu Dantata from Abu Dhabi to Medina for the burial today.
Meanwhile, on Saturday in Kano, a funeral prayer was held in absentia for the renowned businessman. The funeral prayer which held at Umar Bin Khattab, was led by the Chairman of the Kano State Council of Ulamas, Sheikh Ibrahim Khalil.
