JOHN TAKES ANN HOME

By Ingram Osigwe

To love and be loved is to feel the sun from both sides”— David Viscott

Viscott’s timeless quote above will on Saturday, the 6th of December, 2025 be made flesh when John Somtochukwu and his delectable bride, Mary-Ann Chinemerem exchange marital vows at the Anglican Church of the Pentecost, 21 Road, Festac Town, Lagos.

The wedding will be a collaboration and blend of glamour and class as it is expected to attract families, friends and business associates of Somtochukwu and Ann’s parents, Mr and Mrs Jude Okwudibia(Ochiri Ozuo Nnewi) and Hon. & Mrs Ngozi Emechebe(Mmiri Oma Nnewi, ASPAMDA President).

And the new in-laws being two notable  Nnewi sons, the church wedding is going to be a gathering of who is who in Nnewi and Lagos.

After consummating their love at the Church, the new couple will then proceed to Villa Park Hotel and Suites Amuwo, Odofin for a grand, colourful reception. Special Guest of Honour at the reception will be High Chief Cletus Ibeto(Omekannaya) while it will be chaired by Chief Okey Ezibe(Omeruora), founder and Board Chairman, BBA, Trade Fair complex, Lagos. Chief Anthony Oforma(Udoka Nnewi), Founder of Founding Fathers, ASPMDA, Tradefair, Lagos is the Father of the day.

Guests of Honour include Chief DC Oforkansi (Ozo Ebubedike), BoT Chairman, ASPMDA, Chief Sunday Igboanuzuo (Eze Echedolu) President- General (PG)Oraifite, former President ASPMDA, Tradefair, Chief AGES Okeke(Odenigbo), Founder, ASPMDA, Tradefair, Lagos and Chief Ifeanyi Ekwulugo (Oka Onye Egbunaya), Chairman, IYCON Foundations.

Guests are to appear on the dress code which is Gold White, Black and Emerald.

The solemnization of the holy matrimony between Somtochukwu and Ann, in line with cherished Igbo culture which places high premium and respect on in-lawship, will inextricably bond the Okwudibia and Emechebe families.

The Somtochukwu and Ann had earlier in August tied knots traditionally in an Igba Nkwu (traditional wedding) that attracted a galaxy of high profile guests.
