President of Nigeria Pitch Awards, Dr. Shina Phillips, has praised Super Eagles coach, Eric Chelle for improving Nigeria’s tactical discipline, confidence, and attacking commitment.
Phillips said the Super Eagles were now playing as a unit and a unique team. He particularly praised the team’s dominance in the 2-0 defeat of Algeria in the Quarter finals last Saturday.
Speaking on today’s semi final match between Nigeria and Morocco, he admitted that the game will be a tightly contested match but said the Super Eagles will be victorious and play in the final. “This is a high stake match and I know both the Super Eagles and the Atlas Lions will be at their best for this encounter. Frankly, it is difficult to predict the likely result of the match based on the strength of what the two teams have done so far in the competition but even at that, I think Nigeria have all the aces.”
Phillips also said he expects the Super Eagles to put in everything to win the AFCON especially as a way to prove their quality after failing to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The Super Eagles and Atlas Lions will play in the second semi finals at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium Rabat later today. Before their match, the Pharaohs of Egypt will lock horns against Senegal in the first semi finals.
