NDC DISOWNS FAKE SOUTH-EAST CANDIDATE LISTS CIRCULATING ON SOCIAL MEDIA

The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has urged its members and the general public, particularly in Imo, Abia, Anambra, and other affected states, to disregard lists of candidates currently circulating on social media, describing them as fake and unauthorized. In a strongly worded press statement, the party emphasized that the spurious lists did not emanate from its national headquarters and should not be taken as authentic.

According to the NDC, the party has already submitted the genuine lists of candidates who will fly its flag in the upcoming elections to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) through the proper channels as stipulated by the Electoral Act.

The statement signed by Bar. Ikenna Alex-Morgan Enekweizu, the National Secretary of the NDC, while calling on party faithful to remain vigilant and focused on the larger goal of national transformation. stressed that only the officially submitted lists from the party headquarters hold validity, warning supporters against being misled by the fabricated versions making the rounds online.

The party attributed the circulation of the fake lists to mischief makers and individuals opposed to the progress of the NDC. It revealed that investigations are underway to identify the sources of these fabrications and leakages, which it described as desperate attempts to sow discord and cause distractions within the ranks of the party.

Despite the challenges posed by these attempts at sabotage, the NDC reassured its members of its unwavering commitment to building a strong and credible political vehicle. The party expressed confidence that, with the cooperation of all stakeholders, it would play a pivotal role in liberating Nigeria from its current socio-economic difficulties.
