Tongues have been set wagging on how one of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP presidential hopeful, Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed screened for second term at the PDP governorship screening panel in Bauchi yesterday.
Mohammed had a week ago, been selected alongside Senator Bukola Saraki as the consensus candidates of the north, by a PDP wise men committee led by former military president, Gen. Ibrahim Babangida.
Insiders say Mohammed was further persuaded to step down for Saraki, whom the committee believes gas a brighter chance in the presidential contest.
