A Westminster Court in the United Kingdom, has again denied bail to Senator Ike Ekweremadu and his wife Beatrice who are facing trial for allegedly coercing a minor, David Ukpo to the UK to have his organ harvested to save the life of the Senator’s daughter, Sonia.
While upholding defence a purported Kidney donor for the daughter of Ike and Beatrice Ekweremadu, is not a minor, the court denied the couple bail and adjourned the case to August 4th, 2022.
The court gave the ruling on Thursday when Ekweremadu, a former deputy president of the senate, and Beatrice, his wife, appeared before it for trial.
The senator representing Enugu West and his wife are facing charges bordering on conspiracy to arrange/facilitate the travel of another person with a view to exploitation, namely organ harvesting.
